If you're a US citizen, travel, and are security minded...

Bruce Schneier advises you may want to renew your passport right away. Lead paragraph:

"If you have a passport, now is the time to renew it -- even if it's not set to expire anytime soon. If you don't have a passport and think you might need one, now is the time to get it. In many countries, including the United States, passports will soon be equipped with RFID chips. And you don't want one of these chips in your passport."

I have to change my passport right now anyways. It is the last thing that needs to have my name changed and so there is another reason to get that done now. One of the nice things is that it is just a tiny bit cheaper because I am only changing my name.
Though getting my kid's passport (because we have to get the process sped up) will be 'spensive. (we also plan on getting him registered as a citizen of the U.K. as well. Let the little guy rock the duel citizenship thing)
