Eagle Day

I know that not everyone can see my video posts. But this one is somewhat different.

First off, http://www.hulu.com/ , a partner of my employer, has publicly launched today.

That means I can now embed the following video of Apollo 11. There's lots of other stuff at the site as well, but this is what was tickling my brain a few days back when I was doing the vintage NASA photo editing.

*^*^*^*

Apollo 11 - Aldrin in Eagle - crop

Another image from Apollo 11, this one far lass famous (at least to my memory). Buzz Aldrin is in Eagle, the lunar module, and Neil Armstrong takes a strong portrait of him. Armstrong was the photographer of the pair, which is why relatively few pictures of Armstrong exist from the mission.

Original available here. Again, done as an exercise, and to get a wallpaper the right aspect ratio.

Apollo 11 - Aldrin on the moon - crop

So I was poking about on Hulu (the NBC/Fox joint video-on-demand site, which is still in beta for now), and they had a archival thing on Apollo 11.

This is my crop of a fairly famous image, the original being here. I did it partly as an exercise in cropping, though also as a way to make it a wallpaper for my widescreen notebook.

(Other, minor observation: Having now seen David Brinkley from 1969, man was Charlie Rose "influenced" by him. {ahem}. Cadences, emphases... lock, stock and barrel.)
