You will be a warrior

Derek Zumsteg points to a video piece by Ira Glass that just might be the most inspirational thing I've seen in a long time. Glass talks about the thing that discourages most people out of doing creative work: They have good enough taste to know what's good, and also to know that they're not there yet. The trick is to keep banging your head against the wall until you do get good, to the extent that it's a learnable skill. He's also modest enough to talk about how he took years to get good at storytelling.
