"Don't sit underneath the apple tree..."

In a back corner of the yard at Hazel Ave is this space under an apple tree. The swing chair is probably going away with the current owners, so tonight Ulrika and I bought a glider bench.

Still, it's probably my favorite yard space in the new place.

Reminiscences

Your current userpic reminds me of your grandfather. As a journalist, he was always sitting at the typewriter, and that is a very familiar pose. Newsprint was pandemic in our home - it was used for everything from kid's drawings to shopping lists, pop's work to school papers.

I love this picture of the place on Hazel Avenue. The swing definitely needs to have a replacement if it's leaving. I look forward to seeing your new home with my very own eyeballs next month. Hope you'll post more pictures. I haven't figured out how to save the ones on Redfin. All I get is blank space. They reduce to 1 pixel by 1 pixel - probably some copyright thing? I just have so little time for such learning curves anymore. Any suggesions gratefully accepted. I wanted to save them before they disappear.

Now I see: when you guys say the new house has mature fruit trees, you don't mean, trees that are old enough to bear fruit. You mean, trees that have weight and substance and shade, and are old enough to be quirky about how they bear fruit.
