...just how out of control my Amazon wish list is?

I mean, I admit I'm using it more as a reference list for the future than to actually buy stuff. You know, the books and records you bump into once, and if you don't write them down or something you never remember them again? It's just that mine's ballooned out to 349 items.

OTOH... well, i do have a birthday coming up on June 28th, if anyone's interested...

That's precisely what I use my Amazon wishlist for, but I thought I had the longest on livejournal (3 pages, 4 pages if you include my Amazon.co.uk one).. you have well surpassed me. :)

"you have well surpassed me. :)"

It's a dubious distinction.

Oh, jeez, a UK list? A place to point people to order the Goons or Billy Connolly for me? retro me, satanas! :)

I really wish there was a better mechanism for organizing the list. F'r instance, I wish I could point you to a folder, say, of the photography books I've flagged out. I really admire some of the stuff of yours I've seen, and it'd be easier to share a common interest that way. Ach, well. Took them forever to go to the multipage setup, which was vast help to me because it meant they didn't have to render the entire bloody page! {cough}

On a similar note, I wish it was easier to print and/or export the list. But there you go.

And now you've got me curious... Where is the nomi list? :)

Amazon.co.uk is a dangerous place. :)

The funny thing is when I finally purchase something off my list, it isn't from Amazon itself, but from a bookstore. Preferably a local bookstore, because I try to support them when I can.

That's a great idea. But I wonder how many people have as lengthily lists as ours for it to be a worthwhile feature for them to implement? :)Then again it probably wouldn't be that difficult.

I have them linked in my userinfo, under "wish".. .com (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/wishlist/2J1QE7BMTDXL6/ref=wl_em_to/102-1686859-4229730?add-fav=1) and .co.uk (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/wishlist/262J0RYUA0Q6W/202-6158892-5349426) :)

I can't seem to access yours for some reason.

Here's the, "Yeah, but..." on that: To what degree are Amazon shoppers like frequent flyers? As I recall, business class accounts for only 20% of the tickets, but 80% of the profits for airlines. In a similar way, to what degree are Amazon shoppers who keep long lists high-margin/repeat shoppers for them? Such a feature basically makes the site "stickier", and there's lots of evidence they like that (wish lists in general, reviews, etc.)

It may be because I was signed in as me when I cut-and-pasted that link.

Try this one, which I generated by signing out, and then searching as an anonymous user.

Ah, they probably have a bunch of slackers like me for programmers. Why they won't hire me, I don't know, I should fit right in... :)

"Thanks! Were able to look at mine?"

Yes, I was, from the very first.

And thank you.

Although I was already considering adding Civilization III, I just recently read a review of it and I really want to play it now.
