Connection update

So, while I was using the net connection at the library (along with akirlu), I decided to check my argyll@earthlink.net email via Earthlink's web interface...

...and promptly found out I'd forgotten the password.

Oops.

I still think the first day of the outage was EarthLink/Verizon's fault. But after I'd set the account to trying to sign in with the wrong password... that was all mine.

So, password changed, noted in Excel spreadsheet on mirror drive, configuration thingies reset, and all is now happy in Munchkinland.

I was with a friend last night, and she was trying to log in to some web site she is a member of. However, since she has an automatic log in on her computer, and never has to enter into this site her password and user id, she could not recall what either of them were. Wotta hassle, although we did eventually get to see the pages we were looking for.

I told her that I type my user id and password into every web site and program I use, every time I use it because I am so concerned about forgetting this information. Not that that repetition necessarily helps; sometimes I have to get the password sent to me or reset. But *usually* I am able to recall them.
