Steichen, Rudofsky
Feb. 23rd, 2008 07:30 amIt is, strangely, the year of Edward Steichen. Not just one, but two high-profile museum exhibitions.
The National Portrait Gallery in London just opened "Vanity Fair Portraits." The Financial Times liked it, which is how I learned of it. The exhibition is open until 26 May. If you're in London or nearby (he said, nudging
nomi) I strongly recommend it.
Searching for "National Portrait Gallery," on Google, I learned the Smithsonian also has an outfit named that, and is bringing out "Edward Steichen Portraits," from April 11 through Sept. 1, in DC.
Meanwhile, the Getty in LA is getting ready for "Lessons from Bernard Rudofsky." That's from March 11–June 8.
Decisions, decisions.
