Here's a page with some interesting satellite photos of Seattle and Mt. Rainier.
I'm using the Seattle pic as my wallpaper on one of my machines. It's a little old at this point (taken from the satellite in 1991, released in 1999), but the basics are still there. What really strikes me, at a big scale, is stuff like the silt you can see off Magnolia, and all the boats flitting about (and their wakes).
The Rainier picture gives a sense of the mountain's "Fist of God"-ness. 14,410 feet, but only a little over 40 miles from the Sound (which is to say, sea level).
