Amount quoted by Mr. Bush yesterday for relief efforts in response to the Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunamis: "We pledged an initial $35 million in relief assistance."
Knowledge that this administration shows less Christian charity than any in recent memory: Priceless.
UPDATE: Number of people severely impacted by the quake, and how: "Up to 5 million people around the tsunami-struck Indian Ocean region do not have access to the basics they need to stay alive -- clean water, shelter, food, sanitation, and health care, the U.N. World Health Organization said..."
Dollars per victim from the Bush Administration: $7.00
Estimated number and attendance at inaugural balls thrown by Mr. Bush the first time 'round in 2001: "President George W. Bush hosted nine balls in 2001 with an estimated attendance of 35,000."
Spending per party-goer in 2005, if the numbers hold: $1142.86
