For the first time in nearly a year, I'm using the notebook outside the house.

I'm in a local Redmond coffeehouse, Jerzy's, which has free Wifi with a $5.00 purchase. Not just Wifi, but the new 11g, 54 Mb/s fast connection.

Whee!!

Now, back to (looking for) work.

Yay! Remind me to take to you Paris sometime...although it's probably not nearly as cool as your place ;)

Jerzy's vs. Paris

Hard to say. Jerzy's is basically a converted Craftsman bungalow that happens to be just on the edge of "old" Redmond. So the exterior looks nice, but the interior's a bit more pre-fab than I was expecting. It's also surrounded by a lot of asphalt because, well, that's what happened to this stretch of Redmond, more's the pity.

I get the sense Paris is more sidewalk-y, in a brick-ish downtown-ish neighborhood, yes?

So about the only really cool things about Jerzy's are a) it's independent, and b) the Wifi is fast.

Well... that, and the barista tried to make a happy face in my mocha with the whipped cream and syrup... which may not have been obvious unless she pointed it out, but she did take the time to point it out, so... I guess everyone in the O'Brien household is having the help flirt with them. ;)

See, Paris is more beat poet meets industrial cyberpunk goth. Everything is rather metallic with exposed brick and some of the most eclectic clientle you could ask for.
