This is one of very few pictures remaining of my father, John F. O'Brien, and perhaps the only picture of the three of us (dad, mom, and me).

It's our passport photo from the spring of 1970, when we were getting ready to go to the UK and France for three weeks during the summer.

Dad died in December of 1970.

I"m enjoying this little tour through some of your childhood. I hope you'll write more about it.

I did quite a bit of autobiographical writing about my childhood a few years ago.. which I never posted on LJ.. but would sometimes foist upon my more patient friends..... who wanted to know me better. Getting to know who someone was as a child is a foundation to knowing them as an adult.
