1. I'm in the process of convincing myself that they're saying "storytelling" only to avoid the phrase "personal storytelling." Because that would just be too cute.
2. Reporting only the spikes in activity does all of us a great disservice, by constantly pumping us up to be on the alert for "news," to produce "news" and so on. I totally agree that the "news" business is a sham. That said, I do also believe that "there is no bad news" is a positive assertion, meaning that it carries information with it and that as such it can totally be made into "news." I wish they'd take lessons from the weather, actually. Nobody really needs to know that it's going to be sunny and nice out, but they tell you anyway, when it happens. Can we just have a normality forecast and get it in 5-minute chunks once a day?
