Vote tomorrow, Californios
Oct. 6th, 2003 11:06 pmTwo quick things about the recall:
* My mom. My mom is 60-mumble, lives in Orange County, in a well-known retirement community no less (Leisure World), and has been staunchly conservative a while now. This is as closely to the stereotype of the Republican party as you're liekly to find.
She's voting against the recall.
The reason? "Sure, I don't like Davis very much, but he hasn't done anything criminal. And recalls should be to remove someone for malfeasance."
Apparently most of her acquaintences at Leisure World are anti-recall, for the same reason.
My point is that if the basic question of the recall is having problems with retirees in Orange County... Um, well, it could be a bit surprising, the results in the voting.
* The other thing is this: Remember how there were always rumors and whatnot swirling around Clinton about womanizing? Did everyone forget about Gennifer Flowers?
Well, if Schwarzenegger is generating this level of fuss after only about 60 days of journalistic investigation... What do you think the situation is going to look like after another 60 days? Or six months? Or a year?
