"Fairchild Ordered to Cut Housing
Hundreds of Fairchild Air Force Base families could soon be looking for a new place to live.
The Department of Defense ordered Fairchild to cut its housing by 55-percent. That would reduce the number of housing units from 1329 to 596... but for now at least 119 families at Geiger Heights will have to move."
Fairchild's force is mostly made of units that provide mid-air refueling of aircraft... In the usual places, like Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.
While we're on the subject, Army Times, that well-known soft-on-defense rag, recently ran an article on Bush Administration moves on Army pay and benefits:
"An act of ‘betrayal’
In the midst of war, key family benefits face cuts"
To tweak Tom Lehrer, It makes a fella proud to know some soldiers.
