Raucous Caucus
Feb. 9th, 2008 10:07 pmWell, not really. I just wanted a Subject line I'll recognize later.
Anyway, just like four years ago,
akirlu and I are delegates to the next level up, the legislative district (LD) caucus. That time around it was for Dean -- this time it'll be for Obama.
Our precinct ended up with 26 people. This is quite an increase from Archwood/Redmond four years ago, when our precinct had about 5? 6? On that order.
I know the exact count because our Precinct Committee Officer (PCO) wasn't able to attend, so we elected a caucus chair. Who happened to be, um, me. (Like Opus, I think it was mostly because I looked like a ripe steamer at the time.) Turns out, though, as we met Cheryl, our PCO's wife, that the two live...
...directly across our driveway. They're our neighbors.
("Oh? We live between Temperance and Cedar, too!")
The LD caucuses are Saturday, April 5, at 10:00AM. (I'm partly putting that there to make it searchable by me later.)
*^*^*
Obama won state-wide at about a 2-1 margin. That matches our own precinct, although we were 62% vs 38%, and the rounding led to our four delegates being split 2-2.
*^*^*
Just a quick pointer out. Check out
cmpriest's caucus report, and her caucus photos on Flickr. I particularly like, "Eldergoths 4 Obama!!!!", but there are many good ones.
