As promised, announcement II:

We have a new apartment.

It's at Archstone Redmond Hill... which has enough add-ons up the yazoo to be really impressive, especially when one considers a) the low special leased rate they gave us, b) the free DVD player as a bonus, and c) the $100 I'm about to get from Rent.com, ditto.

947 square feet, 2 bedrooms, 2 bath, and they don't mind Sarah-our-dog at all.

So, Ulrika and my mom are driving up in two weeks, Ulrika driving a leased truck from Penske, mom driving our other Saturn (and Sarah) behind her.

They're expected to arrive Friday, 7 November, and then we plan to unload the truck on Saturday, 8 November. If anyone would like to chip in and help, they're more than welcome. We plan to start at 10AM, and pizza will be provided. It should be fairly quick, given that all that's being done is unloading the truck, and not packing, or unpacking, or anything like that.

Congratulations again on the new place!

I'm actually already busy Friday 9th Nov. and Saturday 9th Nov.

But it should be really nice to have Ulrika up here and I'm looking forward to seeing her at Vanguards.

Orycon is late in the month this year. It's usually the 2nd weekend in Nov. Don't know why they made it Thanksgiving weekend this year.

Not only is Orycon late, Thanksgiving is late, too.

Which is to say, Thanksgiving is Thursday, 28 Nov this year. Or a week after Orycon. So they don't conflict.

As may be... Ulrika and I plan to be at Orycon, too.

It's nice to know I got the date wrong. Whew. I'd have hated traveling on the day after Thanksgiving. I just like to do my lizard impersonation that day. Yeah!
