So, we went off to the theatre, and all seemed very well.
'Til we were half-an-hour in -- and all the power went off, save for one red spot abvove the organist.
They brought up the emergency lights in the theatre -- the lobby was still dark - and sent us home.
razzafrazza
The strange thing is, we'd tried to seee Harvey earlier this year at the Grand Illusion Theatre, up in the U District, and that one was afflicted with tech difficulties, too. The screen did this long slow fade to black (which presumably means the lamp gave out, but gradually rather than suddenly).
Black & white movies in Seattle with me and
akirlu present appear to be cursed.
The consolation was a two-hour dinner and hang-out conversation with Randy Byers up at Elysian Brewing. So that was cool.
And coming home to find our apartment still dry (inside) was good.

Date: 2003-10-21 02:09 pm (UTC)Be warned, and I need to chat to Randy about this, there are 2 matches, Friday and Saturday.
Friday is almost certainly Australia Versus New Zealand and Saturday England versus France.
Andy and I will be watching both of them. Oz vs NZ is likely to be the better of the 2 as England ought to beat France.

Date: 2003-10-21 11:24 am (UTC)But, yeah, NetFlix is cool.
OTOH, Pandora isn't on DVD (yet, I hope), so there's no way to use NetFlix for that particular title.

Date: 2003-10-22 12:11 am (UTC)The odd thing is, Cary Grant is one of my all time favorites. Hell, I have a copy of None But the Lonely Heart because it was the movie he was proudest of. Hitchcock titles, of course, but I even like Father Goose. I'll whistle his little bit from Mr. Lucky every now and then.
Take it with you on trips, eh?
