This is from the cover of a brochure about Midland School, my old prep school. It's because it's from a brochure that you see the watermark.
The buildings visible with red roofs in the lower right hand corner are about... oh, I'd say about 1/4 of the campus buildings. I helped build that particular group, digging ditches for the conduits betwwen them. All the school's buildings, save the original ranch house and horse barn, were built by students.
The school's actual property takes up about 2/3 of what you see in this picture. The remainder is part of the Los Padres National Forest.
Grass Mountain, the triangular-faced hill towards the left, is visible from space. I once saw a LANDSAT photo where Grass was easily discernible, because the photo was infrared, and the grass throws off a much different heat signature than anything around it. I haven't seen the movie Sideways yet (co-written by a classmate of mine from Pomona), but I could tell it was set in the Santa Ynez valley because I could see Grass in the background of a still photo.
And, yes, I've climbed Grass Mountain, though only once. On the other hand, back in my cross-country days, I ran throughout most of the lower countryside you see here.
