An arrest warrant has been issued for Tom DeLay. From the story:

"A Texas court on Wednesday issued a warrant for former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay's arrest, and set an initial $10,000 bail as a routine step before his first court appearance on conspiracy and state money laundering charges.Travis County court officials said DeLay was ordered to appear at the Fort Bend County, Texas, jail for booking, where he'd likely be fingerprinted and photographed."

But none of the big outlets are running with it -- not CNN, not the New York Times, not the Washington Post. All of them have small-type-size links to the AP feed for the story, and appear to be yawning.

Something in keep in mind next time one hears accusations of "liberal bias".

Hypothetical: How much coverage do you think this would be getting if it was Sen. Clinton, or Sen. Kennedy? DeLay's role in the House is/was far more powerful than either of those two Senators.

CNN.com had the story on the first page

I didn't say CNN didn't have the story. I said they weren't playing it very big. Note your link goes to an AP wire story, and not CNN original content. And, take a look at CNN's page:

That ain't exactly banner headline news. I've circled the link to the DeLay story in red, to give a sense of size realtive to the total page.

True and they did put an image of a hurricane as the top story or one of the top stories basically in bold but in that list it was on the top. As I read CNN.com regularly I notice that it wasn't shoved towards the bottom under the heading "politics" and instead was near the top which I've noticed included top stories. They didn't put it where the story of the hurricane was which seems to be the focus but it was at the top of the list on the right. Well... sometimes they change the main story so I will see if they hide it further.

If it was Sen. Clinton it would be bigger than a cute white girl being kidnapped/murdered.

Forgive me for foafing several weeks after the moment has passed, but you should read about Fox News Paid for DeLay's Travel (http://politicalwire.com/archives/2005/11/03/fox_news_paid_for_delays_travel.html) the weekend after he was indicted for the first time.
