Funny headline, to a geek
Feb. 24th, 2006 01:02 amSo, Gmail is running a quasi-random RSS feed at the top of the page (which Google calls "web clips", for no apparent reason).
Here's the headline I just saw, sourced to The Motley Fool: "JLG Still in the Boom Times."
They mean an actual company -- JLG, who apparently makes lifts and, well, booms (ha, ha), like Genie and Caterpillar.
Anyway.
Me being me, the first flash in my brain was Jean-Louis Gassée.
As I've said before -- if tech chops really meant anything in the computer business, we'd be talking about the Holy War between Amiga and BeOS, and two-bit loser OSes like Windows, NeXT/MacOS, and GNU/Linux would be nearly forgotten also-rans.
