The Big Game
Jul. 8th, 2006 10:53 pmSo I've already arranged to have tomorrow as a day off from work to both a) see the World Cup Final and b) go to the Seattle fannish pub meet.
Anyone else up to seeing the match? Anyone have suggestions for a good venue, regardless of whether you'll be there? I've been thinking of the IrishImmigrant Emigrant in the U District; the George & Dragon pub in Fremont; the Elysian in Pike'n'Pine; the Kangaroo and Kiwi in Greenlake...
Whad'ya think? Game starts at 11:00AM PDT, so we'll presumably have to be there early to squeeze in amongst the huddled masses, yearning to breathe freely...

It was the game where the Seattle Storm won the championship and there were three Aussies on the team that year. It was a great venue and we had a wonderful time.
It also gave me a chance to do my riff on Australian food, including A Hamburger With Everything.
Every time someone from the Antipodes comes to town I think about gathering people there - one of these days I'll follow through on it.
