That's the headline at Dagens Nyheter.

Ms. Lindh was the Foreign Minister -- Utrikesminister -- of Sweden.

The BBC's main story on this may be be read here.

The Beeb is also running a page of testimonials from readers to Lindh. This is what I sent in:

"I cannot fully explain why this death -- shocking and senseless though it is -- upsets me so much.

My wife is originally from Sweden, so I follow Swedish events more than many Americans. I've been to Sweden twice, and have in-laws there. The death of Ms. Lindh seems... as personal as her own approach to public life.

Her death is a loss to her family, her country, and the world. I can only grieve, and offer what comfort to Swedes I may."

The BBC also have a "Life In Pictures" page. Most haunting to me is image #2, which shows Lindh and Olof Palme, seated. Palme, Prime Minister, was the previous public figure killed in Sweden, in 1986.

...and that's it from me, for now.
