Apologia vita sua... kinda
Nov. 12th, 2003 11:17 pmJack Shafer of Slate recently apologized to Sy Hersh of The New Yorker. Why?
Because Sy said we wouldn't find any WMD in Iraq. Shafer not only said we would, but because Hersh had a bad streak predicting events in the War OnAmerican Freedom and Democracy Terror, Hersh's prediction we wouldn't find any WMD was a leading indicator we would.
Now if only Shafer will apologize for not writing about how the Administration knew in advance there were no WMD... But, hey, perhaps he has no direct sources. I don't. It's just the most likely explanation, given the facts we have in hand.
