Petards, and the hoisting thereof...
Feb. 26th, 2004 03:12 pmThis is just great.
Seems the Rocky Mountain Progressive Network is calling for an on-the-record sign of lack of hypocrisy.
To wit: They have a "fidelity pledge". You know, as in being faithful to one's spouse.
And they're calling on all members of Congress who support the Federal Marriage Amendment (FMA) to sign it. Since infidelity is at least as much of a "threat to marriage" as same-sex marriage is.
That deafening silence you're experiencing is the Congressional response...
*^*^*
In other news, Josh Marshall is reporting that at least 34 Senators are already on the record opposing an amendment to ban same-sex marriages.
So, while the situation is fluid, it looks like the damn thing is already dead.
You might also want to see Josh's thoughts on why even Tom Delay is, um... less than fully seized with Jorge's bold, novel policy initiative.
