Taken yesterday, with the D60. This is on the southern end of the great reading room.

A tricky shot under normal circumstances, but the D60 just ate it up. The focus is on the grass rather than the background. The metering got the backlit grass right, but not so much as to make the background too dark. I'm impressed.

Just hanging out.

And for people who don't know: That's not a muzzle. It's a "Halti," similar to a horse halter. It's works better at controlling Sarah's pulling on the leash.

Our dog hides in the bokeh, while the backlit grass is sharp.

Note the basic similarity to this album cover of Peter Gabriel's, which took me forever to parse correctly:

[livejournal.com profile] akirlu brought home a Nikon D60 from work, for me to try out, since she's been talking about getting me one for my birthday. This and the next few shots are from that. This is one of the very first, showing how the D60 has three focus points (as opposed to the Panasonic Lumix, which has none -- you get what you get).

Nice for the backlighting as well, showing off the metering.
