I never knew I'd get this upset about a cetacean.

There's a Seattle Times article about how today is the last day Bjossa, the orca at the Vancouver Aquarium, will be there.

They have good reasons for shipping her out. Her companion, Finna, died, and orca being social animals, Bjossa should have some company. That I get.

What I don't get is where they're shipping her to: SeaWorld San Diego.

See, SeaWorld has had a bad rep with me ever since they bought Marineland. The pruchase was done mostly because Marineland at that time could keep their orca alive, while SeaWorld's kept dying off. Having shipped the newly-bought orca down to San Diego, they then tossed the remaining animals over the Palos Verdes cliff where Marineland was.

On top of this, I've interacted with Bjossa. Last trip to Vancouver, not only did she and I play a little bit up top of her tank, she came and sort of... I don't know, danced with me through the underground windows of her pool. So I feel I have an interest, somehow.

So I don't know, I don't know, I just don't know.
