Feb. 23rd, 2002 06:03 pmHere's a fun idea to consider:
Record companies hate .MP3s, right? And it's because home recording -- whether via reel-to-reel, cassette, DAT, or MP3, as this battle churns through the decades -- allegedly cuts into sales, right?
So, um... why is it when they come up with ways of making recording at home more difficult, labels don't want to advertise the fact. Or, to hell with advertising, they don't want buyers to know about such "anti-piracy" measures at all, until after the purchase.
It wouldn't be because, um, you know, discouraging home recording cuts into sales, would it?
Something to think about if you're a shareholder in any of the recording giants, and you feel you have a decent lawyer... ;)
